Description
Sutopuri, also known as Strawberry Prince, is a Japanese musical entertainment unit formed in June 2016. The group consists of six members: Satomi, Nanamori, Jel, Colon, Riinu, and Root. They began their career primarily on video streaming platforms such as YouTube and TwitCasting, gaining popularity through singing covers of existing songs as well as performing original material. The group operates under the management of STPR Corporation, which was founded by leader Nanamori. In live performances and official visuals, the members are typically represented by illustrated avatars or animated characters rather than their real faces, a practice rooted in their origins as online streamers concerned with internet privacy.

Sutopuri has a notable connection to anime through their work on the television series Yo-kai Gakuen Y: N to no Sōgū (Yo-Kai Academy Y: An Encounter With N). The group performed the anime's first opening theme song Gingira Ginga, which was written and composed by Vocaloid producer Nayutalien. This song was used from the series premiere in December 2019. Sutopuri also performed the second opening theme song for the same series, titled Daiuchū Rendezvous (Universe Rendezvous), which premiered in the show's 29th episode. Like the first opening, this song was also written and composed by Nayutalien. Additionally, the group contributed to the series by performing one of the weekly versions of the ending theme song Y Gakuen e Ikō (Let's Go to Y Academy).

Beyond television series, Sutopuri is connected to animated film. The group released a single in June 2024 titled Hajimari no Monogatari (The Beginning Story), which served as the theme song for the theatrical anime film Gekijōban Sutopuri Hajimari no Monogatari (Sutopuri the Movie: The Beginning Story). The single contains two songs: Chikai no Hanataba wo ~With You~ and Niji no Hajimari, both of which were produced by the popular creative unit HoneyWorks.

Musically, the group draws on contributions from its own members as well as external creators. Member Root is noted as a singer-songwriter within the unit who composes lyrics, sets music, and handles mixing for some of the group's songs. Root wrote and composed the ninth anniversary commemorative song Negai Kaze (Wishing Wind), released in June 2025. The group's musical identity blends pop melodies with energetic performances, and they have achieved significant commercial success, including performing at major venues like the Nippon Budokan and appearing on prestigious broadcasts such as NHK's Kōhaku Uta Gassen.
