On the stage of AnimeJapan 2026, which took place on March 28th in Tokyo, new details about the third season of the romantic comedy "The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You" (abbreviated as "100 Kano") were announced. Accordingly, Kanae Ichinose and Ayana Taketatsu will lend their voices to two new characters.

Kanae Ichinose voices Chiyo Iin, the cousin of the protagonist Rentarō. She is a responsible first-year middle school student and serves as the class representative. Ayana Taketatsu takes on the role of Naddy, a German teacher who stands out with her cowboy hat and a scarf with star stripes. Naddy also speaks a peculiar mix of English and Japanese, referred to in the original as "Naddy language." First voice samples of both characters can already be heard in the recently released teaser trailer.

The third season of the series, based on the manga of the same name by Rikito Nakamura and Yukiko Nozawa, is scheduled to air in July. The plot revolves around Rentarō Aijō, who learns from the God of Love that he will encounter 100 soulmates throughout his life—and that he would die if he does not pursue any of these relationships. The first season of the series aired from October 2023, followed by the second in January 2025.

Voices from the cast:

Kanae Ichinose (Role: Chiyo Iin): "I am very happy to be able to voice Chiyo Iin! I was a bit unsure at first whether I could keep up with the energetic pace of '100 Kano,' but once the recordings started, I had a lot of fun throughout. Chiyo is a girl with a strong personality—I hope viewers can look forward to her and experience all her different facets."

Ayana Taketatsu (Role: Naddy): "Naddy speaks in a peculiar, broken English (the 'Naddy language') and wears American-style clothing, but she is actually a German teacher. Her appearance and way of speaking reflect how she lives: she is ambitious and straightforwardly follows her path to become the person she wants to be. During the recordings, I was overwhelmed by the energy of the other performers, but it was a great experience, and I hope the audience enjoys the series as much as we do."

The direction is once again handled by Hikaru Satō, while the character design is overseen by Akane Yano. The animation is produced by Studio Bibury Animation Studios.
