Hoshin Engi Manga Is Getting Television Animation Adapted
On Thursday, Shueisha’sYoung Jump magazine had revealed this year’s combined 36th and 37th issue in which they announced that Ryu Fujisaki’s manga, Hoshin Engi, is getting a new television animation adaptation. The magazine had also revealed that the animation will be a remark. A teaser video for the animation series is also revealed by Young Jump issue.
The issue of the magazine had also revealed the three main characters of the animation series: Tomoaki Maeno as Bunchu, Kensho Ono as Taikobo, and Takahiro Sakurai as Supushan.
From 1996 to 2000, Fujisaki serialized his manga, 23-volume, in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The story of the manga is based on Chinese novel Fengshen Yanyi. The plot of the manga is settled in thousands years ago.
In between 2007 to 2011, Viz Media released the original manga in English.
The manga has already inspired 26 television animation episodes in 1999. In 2001-2004, ADV Films released the animation on DVD titled Soul Hunter.
