A Couple of Cuckoos Reveals New Trailer, Footage, and Cast

After the first two promotional videos, which focused on the main heroine Erika Amano and another heroine, Hiro Segawa, the official website of A Couple of Cuckoos (Kakkō no Iinazuke) has released a 35-second third promotional video. It introduces Sachi Umino, the protagonist Nagi's sister-in-law, voiced by Konomi Kohara.



The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2022. The studios Synergy SP and Shin-Ei Animation will produce the anime. Hiroaki Akagi and Yoshiyuki Shirahata are directing the series. Aya Takano is responsible for the character design, and Yashiro Nakanishi for the composition.

Miki Yoshikawa launched the manga in January 2020 in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine. Kodansha released the eighth compiled volume of the manga on September 17.

Kodansha USA describes the story as follows:

16-year-old super-student Nagi Umino, a second-year at Meguro River Academy High School, was switched at birth. On his way to a dinner where he is supposed to meet his biological parents, he coincidentally runs into the bold, outspoken Erika Amano, who is determined to make Nagi her fake boyfriend since she never actually wants to marry. But when Nagi makes it to dinner, he discovers that his parents have decided to resolve the hospital mix-up by conveniently having him marry the daughter his biological parents raised... who turns out to be none other than Erika herself!
