The well-known manga series Baki, created by Keisuke Itagaki, is set to embark on a new narrative journey. The announcement was made in the 35th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine, with the debut of the new series scheduled for the 39th issue, which will be released on August 24.
The original martial arts manga, Baki The Grappler, was a staple of Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine from 1991 to 1999, spanning 42 volumes. The subsequent sequel managed to maintain the momentum and released 31 volumes between 1999 and 2005. Following this sequel, Itagaki produced Hanma Baki from 2005 to 2012, another lengthy series with 37 volumes. The franchise continued in March 2014 with the first Baki-Dou manga, the fourth manga in the franchise, which concluded in June 2023 with 22 volumes.
