The series begins with an exciting battle against Boromir Napolitan, a dragon threatening the world with his dark magic. A group of six survivors, including Desir Herrman and Rafaello, manage to defeat the dragon, believing they have saved the world. However, they soon discover that the dragon's heart is about to explode, releasing a massive amount of stored mana that could destroy everything. Despite all their efforts, they cannot prevent the impending catastrophe.

Just as they prepare for the end, Desir finds himself back at the Hebrion Academy, three years before the battle against Boromir Napolitan. He learns that he must take an entrance exam that leads him through an artificial shadow world. Confused but determined, Desir decides to use this opportunity to rewrite history and prevent the tragic events he experienced.

At the academy, Desir meets Ladoria Doriche, a second-year student who serves as his mentor. She is a gifted fire mage and holds the highest rank at the academy. Desir also encounters Elheim, a water mage who is at odds with Ladoria. Elheim mocks Desir for being a commoner, highlighting the academy's discriminatory practices that separate nobles and commoners into different classes.

By the end of the episode, Desir resolves to pass the entrance exam and change the course of history. His memories and his desire to prevent the tragic events that led to the battle against Boromir Napolitan motivate him. Just before the entrance exam begins, Desir prepares himself for the challenges ahead.
