Gagaga Bunko, a subsidiary of Shogakukan, announced on Twitter that the light novel series "Henjin no Salad Bowl" (A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics) by Yomi Hirasaka and Kantoku will be adapted into a TV anime. On the same day, Kantoku released a visual artwork to coincide with the announcement, aligning it with the birthday of the character Sara on July 6.
"A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics" tells the story of Sōsuke Kaburaya, a penniless detective who encounters Sara Da Odin, an otherworldly princess with magical abilities. Through various circumstances, Sara quickly adapts to modern Japan and begins living with Sōsuke. The plot thickens when Livia Do Udis, a knight from Sara's realm, joins them. Although initially homeless in this new world, Livia finds unexpected contentment in her new surroundings. The narrative follows the lives of Sōsuke and these strong, optimistic women, along with other unique characters such as a rough-mannered lawyer, a spiritual leader, and a divorce attorney.
The series first appeared in the literary landscape in October 2021, with the fifth volume scheduled for release on July 19. Another media adaptation was released by Kōtarō Yamada in September 2022 as a manga version on the Sunday Webry website, with the second volume already published on June 12 in the public domain.
