The manga series "Ferma's Cooking" by Yugo Kobayashi, known for "Aoashi," is being adapted into an anime. To celebrate the announcement, Kobayashi released an exclusive illustration and shared his excitement about the adaptation with fans.
"Ferma's Cooking" tells the story of the young math prodigy Gaku Kitada, who, after a setback in the world of numbers, discovers a new passion: cooking. He uses his mathematical mindset to develop surprisingly creative and visually impressive recipes. He receives support from the ambitious and mysterious top chef Kai Asakura. Together, they unfold a fascinating human and culinary story.
The manga has been serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine for some time and currently spans four volumes. In 2023, the story was already adapted into a TV drama, with Fumiya Takahashi and Jun Shison in the lead roles.
The specially created illustration for the announcement shows Gaku in a chef's coat, smiling while holding a small doll of Kai in his hand. In his comment, Kobayashi expressed his joy and surprise that "Ferma's Cooking" was chosen for an anime adaptation despite the still relatively small number of manga volumes.
He also joked: "I hope that many viewers will get hungry after watching the anime in the middle of the night and indulge in a late-night snack!"
