A long-standing demand of the fan community is finally being fulfilled: The popular shonen manga "PSYREN – SIREN" by Toshiaki Iwashiro is being adapted into a television series and is set to be released in 2026.

The story follows high school student Ageha Yoshina. One day, he finds an unusual red telephone card in a phone booth. Shortly after, his school friend Sakurako Amamiya, who also possessed such a card, disappears. While searching for her, Ageha stumbles upon rumors about a nationwide series of mysterious disappearances linked to the secret society "Psyren." When he seeks contact with the organization, a deadly game begins for him in a desolate and dangerous world.

To launch the project, a first teaser trailer has been released, which uses live-action scenes of nighttime phone booths overlaid with drawings from the series. This creates an eerie atmosphere that blurs the line between reality and the world of Psyren.

The also unveiled teaser visual shows the protagonists Ageha and Sakurako in a devastated landscape with a mysterious tower in the background. A public telephone – the central object of the plot – is also visible.

The production of the series is in the hands of the studio Satelight, known for works such as "Macross" and "Aquarion." The direction is handled by Katsumi Ono, who was previously responsible for the "Symphogear" series. The series concept is developed by Shin Yoshida (listed in some sources as "Shin Yoshida" or "Yoshida Shin").
