Unfortunately, there is bad news again regarding ADV Films.
According to the official German ADV Films forum, the series Perfect Girl, Venus Versus Virus, and Moonlight Mile will now definitely no longer be released.
The reason for this is the end of the collaboration with the Japanese Sojitz Cooperation, their most important licensor up to now, which caused ADV to lose the rights to more than 30 anime series. These rights were purchased a few weeks ago by Funimation, the current leader in the US anime market. LACE, the European distributor of ADV Films, announced in a statement today that the German licenses for the three aforementioned series were also among them.
Whether Funimation has any plans to utilize the German licenses in any way is currently unknown.
Meanwhile, Lace & ADV are jointly searching for new licenses for the European market and hopefully, new titles will be announced later this year.
