The website update also reveals additional voice actors and provides a first look at a new visual. Mutsuki Iwanaka will voice the character Jay, while Natsumi Takamori will take on the role of Kaoru. The series' opening and ending themes have also been unveiled. "No Frontier" by Aile The Shota will play at the beginning of each episode, while "Wasurenagusa" (Forget-me-not) by GReeeeN will serve as the ending theme.
At the heart of the story are the characters Hikaru Sudō and Risa Higuchi, brought to life by voice actors Takeo Ōtsuka and Yume Miyamoto, respectively.
Yuzo Sato is in charge of the anime adaptation, directing the series at Madhouse. Ryunosuke Kingetsu oversees and writes the series' scripts, while Kei Tsuchiya handles character design and also serves as chief animation director. The series' music is composed by Takashi Ohmama and Natsumi Tabuchi.
"AI no Idenshi" is set in the near future and offers a speculative look at a society where nearly 10% of the population consists of "Humanoids"—artificial lifeforms with a striking resemblance to humans. The narrative revolves around the character Hikaru Sudō, a doctor specialized in these Humanoids.
