"Aikatsu!" and "PriPara" celebrate anniversary with movie

To mark the 10th anniversary of both series, a joint project is launching: The anime film „Aikatsu! × PriPara THE MOVIE – A Magical Encounter“ will premiere in Japanese theaters in fall 2024. Both franchises, which have been running since 2014, are uniting for the first time the characters of the „Aikatsu!“ protagonist Akira Ōzora and the „PriPara“ icon Laala Manaka in an independent story.

The film presents a completely new plot with previously unreleased live elements. The teaser visuals show Akira and Laala holding hands – accompanied by the message of pouring ten years of passion into a joint project. A short promotional video offers glimpses of their dynamic interaction and shared stage performances.

The creative team, including director Takahiro Ōkawa and screenwriter Michihiro Tsuchiya, relies on familiar designs by Hiroko Yaguchi and Masaharu Harada. The 3D animation is handled by Studio Tatsunoko Production, supported by the experienced supervisors Ryūichi Kimura and Makoto Moriwaki.
