A new visual and promotional video have been released for the TV anime series "Akane-banashi," based on the original work by Yuki Suenaga and Takamasa Moue. These announce the start of the "Karaku Cup" story arc.

The "Karaku Cup" arc focuses on the student rakugo championships. The new visual features three central characters, each with their own motivations: Renma Nerimaya, a rakugo prodigy aiming for a title defense with newly interpreted texts; Hikaru Takaragi, an aspiring voice actor looking to prove himself in rakugo; and Akane Osaki, who is interested in the highest master rank "Shin'uchi" and takes on challenges such as Issho Arakawa.

The anime has been airing since April in the "IMAnimation" programming block on TV Asahi and on BS Asahi. It has also been announced that Blu-ray and DVD box sets will be released on September 30. Accompanying release events are planned.
