“Kata Inaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru” anime announces Hiroaki Hirata as the main protagonist

The TV anime Kata Inaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru, set to release in April 2025, has officially cast Hiroaki Hirata as the voice of the main character, Beryl Gardennant. The fantasy series, based on the novel by Shigeru Sagasaki, follows Beryl, a former middle-aged swordsmanship instructor who once aspired to become a master swordsman. His peaceful life is turned upside down when his former student Alyusia, now a captain of the royal knights, appears, appoints Beryl as the special instructor of the knight order, and sets him on a new path.

Along with the casting announcement, a character video featuring Beryl was also released. The dynamic video, set to powerful music, offers a glimpse into the upcoming adventures of the "hidden sword saint" Beryl.
