“Kinnikuman” returns for its 40th anniversary with “The Perfect Origin Arc.”

The popular manga series "Kinnikuman" celebrates its 40th anniversary with a new TV anime adaptation titled "Kinnikuman: The Perfect Origin Arc." Initial information about the series' cast has been released. Mamoru Miyano will voice the main character Kinnikuman, a hero known for his miraculous comebacks and his dedication to protecting Earth. Akira Kamiya, the original voice of Kinnikuman, will be heard in two roles: as Kinnikuman's father Mayumi Kinniku and as his mentor Prince Kamehame.

The new series continues the story of Kinnikuman, a clumsy and below-average superhero from the planet Kinniku who eventually rises to become the strongest man in the world of superhuman battles.

Alongside the cast announcement, a new image and the first promotional video for the series have been released. The video features the voices of Miyano as Kinnikuman, Kamiya as Prince Kamehame and Mayumi Kinniku. It includes a scene where Kinnikuman and Prince Kamehame simultaneously shout one of Prince Kamehame's 48 Killer Moves, "Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan."

The new "Kinnikuman: The Perfect Origin Arc" is expected to air in 2024. The series is directed by Yoh Sato, with series composition by Shin Fukami, character design by Hiroki Marufuji, and music by Yasuharu Takanashi. Production I.G. is handling the animation for the series.
