"All You Need is Kill" receives anime adaptation from Studio4 ℃

The science fiction novel "All You Need Is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka is being adapted into an anime series by the animation studio STUDIO4℃. At the same time, first impressions in the form of a teaser image and an announcement video have been released.

The story of the anime version "ALL YOU NEED IS KILL" is set in the near future, where humanity must face a fierce battle against alien creatures called "Gitai." At the center of the story are the inexperienced soldier Kiriya and the battle-hardened officer Rita, whose paths cross amid the fighting. The anime adaptation distinguishes itself from previous versions by placing the character Rita at the forefront. It explores Rita's personal conflicts, loneliness, and her character development, which is triggered by her encounter with Kiriya.

The director is Kenichiro Akimoto, who previously worked as a CGI director on the film "Children of the Sea" and the music video for the theme song "Umi no Yūrei" by Kenshi Yonezu. Akimoto also commented on the project's realization on the occasion of the announcement.
