A website and a Twitter account have been opened to officially announce the anime adaptation of Sai Sumimori's light novel series Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou deshita? (Actually, I Was the Strongest?). It has also been announced that the TV series will premiere in 2023. No further details about this anime project have been revealed so far.
Sai Sumimori has been working on this fantasy isekai on the novel self-publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō since September 2018. The publisher Kodansha has been releasing the story in volumes under its imprint Kodansha Ranobe Books since May 2019. So far, the series consists of 5 volumes with illustrations by Ai Takahashi.
Kodansha USA has licensed the manga in English for North America and describes the plot as follows:
Being reincarnated into another world with the promise of "cheat" powers is one thing... but being reborn as a baby and then left to die after your royal parents believe you're powerless? That's a whole different story! Now, the newborn Reinhart—or Hart to his new friends—must navigate a dangerous world... but luckily, he possesses magic that literally breaks the mold!
