Animated film "Window-Side Totto-chan" with Aimyon's new song "Ano ne", trailer and poster released

The animated film "Window-Side Totto-chan" will feature the brand-new song "Ano ne" by singer-songwriter Aimyon as its theme. Along with this announcement, a trailer and the official movie poster have been released. The film is based on the 1981 novel of the same name by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, which depicts her own childhood.



Aimyon expressed her deep emotional connection to the project, explaining that Totto-chan is a character loved around the world. She revealed that she was moved to tears when she saw footage from the film's production.

The trailer, set to the melody of "Ano ne," showcases touching moments between Totto-chan and various supportive adults. It also features scenes with Taiyou, a boy suffering from a form of paralysis, as they climb a tree together. The film also highlights Totto-chan's fulfilling days, spent swimming, arm wrestling, and more.

The film, set to release in Japanese theaters on December 8, is directed by Shinnosuke Yakuwa and animated by Shin-Ei Animation. The character design is by Shizue Kaneko, known for her work on the series "Doraemon." Riria Ohno was cast as Totto-chan after an audition, with Hiroshi Yakusho playing the school principal, Oguri Shun as Totto-chan's father, and An as Totto-chan's mother. Karen Takizawa plays the teacher Oishi.
