As part of the comprehensive mixed-reality project "Battle of Tokyo," a new animated short film has been presented. The video is part of the upcoming production "LIVE IN THEATER『BATTLE OF TOKYO -Utsukushiki Uso-』" (English: Battle of Tokyo -The Beautiful Lie-), which will be viewable from January 23, 2026.
"Battle of Tokyo" is an overarching entertainment project by the company LDH JAPAN. It creates a fictional future vision of Tokyo, in which virtual characters based on real LDH artists exist in animated stories, games, and digital content. The new theater production combines newly edited footage from previous large-scale music events with completely new animated episodes produced specifically for this project.
The story begins one year after a decisive conflict in the metropolis. The former leader SherRock sacrificed himself to save the city, but now his memory is beginning to mysteriously vanish from everyone's minds. His former partner ZERO wanders tormented by this void when he encounters a mysterious figure called "Master of the Cybernetic Palace." This figure offers a strange way to regain the lost memories.
The main roles in these new animated segments are taken on by well-known voice actors. Yuki Kaji lends his voice to the desperate ZERO. Yuma Uchida voices the hero SherRock who disappeared in the memory gap. Tomokazu Sugita embodies the enigmatic "Master of the Cybernetic Palace" and additionally provides the narrative voice.
The released short film allows for a first auditory impression of these characters and the atmosphere of the story.
