Animation film "ChaO" presents trailer, poster and theme song

STUDIO4℃ has released the main trailer and official movie poster for the animated film ChaO. Japanese artist Koda Kumi contributes the theme song with the newly composed track ChaO!.

The story follows Stefan, an ordinary office worker whose life is turned upside down by the impulsive mermaid princess Chao – starting with the princess’s sudden marriage proposal. The trailer showcases Stefan’s chaotic daily life with Chao, who later appears in human form. Supporting characters from both worlds are also featured. The poster brings together all main characters under the motto Our world is made of love and miracles.

Director Aoki Yasuhiro brought Koda Kumi on board for the musical accompaniment. The two previously collaborated in 2006 for the short film Tatoe Kimi ga Sekai no Teki ni Natte mo. Kumi described their reunion after 19 years as a fateful miracle and emphasized that the song should emotionally accompany the audience.

Character design is handled by Kojima Yamato. The main voice cast includes Suzuka Oji (Stefan) and Yamada Anna (Chao). The film is set in a future where humans and sea creatures coexist and opens in Japanese theaters on August 15.
