The manga You Can’t Have a Love Comedy With Childhood Friends (jap. Osananajimi to wa Rabukome ni Naranai) by Maya Mitsusudare is receiving an anime adaptation. The project is being realized by studio Tezuka Productions, as announced with the release of a first teaser and visual material.

The story follows student E-Yuu, who is in an ambivalent relationship with his two longtime friends Shio and Akari. While he tries to hide his feelings, the seemingly disinterested girls turn out to be carrying their own secrets – an unusual love triangle that questions genre-typical narrative patterns.

The original work has been serialized in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket for several years and currently spans 14 volumes.
