The light novel "Failure Frame" by Yoshibe Shinzaki is set to be adapted into an anime in 2024. The announcement was accompanied by the release of the first key visual and a teaser trailer.

The story revolves around high school student Tomika Himori, who is summoned to a parallel world along with his classmates. While his peers possess S-rank and A-rank abilities, Himori is deemed E-rank—the lowest—and cast out by the goddess Vysis. Abandoned in a ruin with zero survival chances, Himori uses his mocked "abnormal status abilities" in an attempt to escape, igniting a flame of vengeance against Vysis and revealing his true nature.

The original novel, which currently spans 11 volumes, is published by Overlap Bunko. A manga adaptation by Uchiuchi Keyaki, illustrated by Shou Ukiyo, is also available, with eight volumes released so far.

The first key visual depicts Himori in despair, gazing at the sky amidst the darkness while surrounded by the arms of monsters. The teaser video shows the confusion of the classmates as they are summoned to the parallel world, as well as Vysis's scornful expression. Additionally, the voices of the characters Himori and Vysis can be heard, though casting details will be announced at a later date.

The animation production is led by Seven Arcs, known for works like "Tonikaku Kawaii" and "Blue Period," and co-produced by SynergySP. The series is directed by Michio Fukuda, who has worked on titles such as "Terra Formars Revenge" and "Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan - Demon Capital." Series composition is handled by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, and character design is by Kana Hashidate.
