Anime adaptation of “Theogony” announced

The novel "Theogony" (テオゴニア) by Maiji Tani is set to be adapted into a TV anime. The story takes place in an era marked by constant conflicts with subhuman species such as the Makaku, a race of gray apes, and ogres, all vying for control over human territories. At the heart of this turbulent world is Kai, a young boy from the village of Rag, who spends his days fighting to protect his homeland. Known as the "Protector," Kai possesses immense powers that drive him into relentless battles as he watches ally after ally fall. Amid the chaos, he begins to gather mysterious memories of advanced technological knowledge and the way of life of a civilization far beyond his own—memories he shouldn’t have. At first, Kai is just a simple villager, but his journey leads him straight into great trials and hardships.

The original novel series consists of three volumes, while the manga adaptation by Shunsuke Aoyama spans eleven volumes. With the announcement of the anime adaptation, a visual teaser for the series has also been released, setting the stage for this epic tale of survival and discovery in a world filled with relentless adversity.
