A new TV anime adaptation of the novel Botsuraku Yotei no Kizoku dakedo, Hima Datta kara Mahou wo Kiwametemita ("The Declining Noble Who Became a Master of Magic Because He Was Bored") by Nazuna Miki has been confirmed. Along with the announcement, a teaser image and the main cast of the adaptation were revealed.
The story begins with a man who, during an evening drink, finds himself in the body of Liam, the fifth son of a noble family on the brink of ruin. With no particular ambitions, he spends his free time practicing magic, a skill he admires. To his surprise, he discovers he has a talent for it and can even master the most difficult spells. Seeking independence from his declining noble family, he becomes an adventurer and eventually rises to become one of the greatest sorcerers in the world.
The novel, which was highly successful on the web novel platform "Shousetsuka ni Narou", ranking second in the annual rankings and first in the quarterly rankings, has also been adapted into a manga by Rio Akisaki and a spin-off manga by Daiki Tose.
The anime is directed by Kenichi Ishikura, with animation produced by Studio Deen and Marvelous Jack.
