The series is based on the manga by Masahito Soda and Kuro Tomiyama and stars Taku Yashiro as Shun Onoda, Junya Enoki as Daigo Toake, and Ayane Sakura as Yuki Nakamura. The characters are designed by Hitomi Tsuruta and Koji Yabuno, while Shinzō Fujita is in charge of the series composition. The series is produced by Masahiko Murata at Brains Base.

For those unfamiliar with the story, it follows the adventures of a young man named Daigo Asahina, who has always dreamed of becoming a firefighter. As a fresh graduate from the training academy, Daigo is assigned to the Medaka-Ga-Hama fire station, where he learns the true meaning of bravery and sacrifice, as firefighters risk their lives to protect others from the dangers of fire and smoke. The original manga was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1995 to 1999 and inspired an anime adaptation in 2000.
