The manga series "Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru" by Chihiro Yuzuki is receiving a TV anime adaptation. Initial details about the production, including staff, teaser, and voice cast, have been officially announced.

The series follows Mari Asaka, a high school student in a society where humans and animal-like beings called "Jūjin" coexist. At the heart of the story is the relationship between Mari and Tsunagu Hidaka, one of the rare Jūjin students permitted to attend a human school.

Kōtarō Nishiyama has been confirmed for the role of Yukihiro Aida, a classmate of the two main characters. Yukihiro is part of the school's basketball team, more athletic than academically inclined, and plays a lively role in the protagonists' friend group. Alongside Nishiyama, the main cast includes Manaka Iwami (Mari Asaka) and Takuya Eguchi (Tsunagu Hidaka). Additional roles, such as Kisara, a cat-like Jūjin, will be announced at a later date.

The anime is directed by Shin Itagaki and Hiromi Kimura. Animation is handled by Studio Millepensee, known for previous works like "I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too" and "Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsura Sugiru." Music composition is by Akiyoshi Yasuda, whose work can already be heard in the newly released first teaser.

Official visuals of the characters Mari, Tsunagu, Yukihiro, and Kisara have also been revealed. Visitors to AnimeJapan 2025 will have the chance to hear specially recorded audio clips of the main cast at the Shueisha DeNA Projects booth.
