The manga series "Kimi wo Aisuru Tsumori wa Nakatta" (English title: "I Said I Don't Love You, So Why Is the Next Duke Spoiling Me?") is receiving an anime television series adaptation. The main cast has been announced: Yui Ishikawa voices the role of Elsa Yukarainen, and Soma Saito lends his voice to the character Julius Royas.

The romantic comedy tells the story of an optimistic young woman from an impoverished noble house and the awkward but high-ranking heir to a duchy. The two protagonists enter into a marriage of convenience, which forms the starting point for the further plot.

The production is handled by the studios Zero-G and Glass. Hitoyuki Matsui directs, while Tomoko Konparu oversees the series composition. The character design is created by Yuko Yahiro.

The original author Kei Misawa and the manga artist Natsu Mizuno expressed their delight about the adaptation and thanked the readers and those involved for their support. The voice actors also stated in initial comments that they were honored to be part of the project and looked forward to the finished adaptation.

The anime is being produced under the "Kimi Ai" production committee.
