The popular novel series Shinmai Ossan Bōkensha, Saikyō Party ni Shinu Hodo Kitaerarete Muteki ni Naru by Kiraku Kishima is being adapted into an anime. This unique shōnen story, aimed at middle-aged readers, follows the adventures of Rick Gladiator, a 30-year-old guild employee who decides to become an adventurer.
Traditionally, adventurers begin their journey at a young age, as they require extensive training to acquire magical powers. Despite his late start, Rick quickly becomes an impressive adventurer thanks to his collaboration with Orichalcum Fist. This legendary group consists of the most powerful adventurers in the land, who train Rick in extraordinary combat skills. Under the guidance of "monster-class" masters, including dragons and vampires, Rick faces off against one elite adventurer after another.
The first volume of the novel, illustrated by Tea, was published in December 2018 by HJ Novels, with the eleventh volume released on December 19. Additionally, Ken Ogino has been serializing a manga adaptation in Comic Fire since November 2019, with Hobby Japan recently publishing the seventh volume.
