The one-shot was originally published in 1994 in Weekly Shonen Jump by Shueisha and notably features the character Ryuma, who was later incorporated into Oda's groundbreaking work One Piece.

The upcoming adaptation will be helmed by Sunghoo Park, known for directing Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Park will also oversee the composition of the anime. Interestingly, the production of this anime will be handled by Park's new studio, E&H Production.
