The MF Bunko J Summer School Festival recently revealed during a livestream event the plan for a TV anime adaptation of the "Naze Boku no Sekai o Dare mo Oboeteinai no ka?" novels by Kei Sazane and illustrator neco (Why Does Nobody Remember My World?). The release is scheduled for 2024, and the event showcased a teaser image drawn by neco.

The story is set in an era where humans, led by the hero Cid, emerged victorious from a fierce war among five races all vying for supremacy over Earth. However, this world is "overwritten" by the presence of a boy named Kai. In the altered reality, dragons and demons now rule the Earth, humans have lost the war, and the hero Cid is absent. Kai, who has been forgotten by all of humanity, is determined to restore the "true world" after encountering a mysterious girl named Rinne.

Kadokawa first published the novel series in July 2017, and the series concluded with the ninth volume in August 2020. The manga adaptation of the novels, illustrated by Arikan, was serialized in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Alive magazine starting February 2018. The first compiled manga volume was released in June 2018, and the ninth volume was published on February 21.
