Fans of the manga series "Dandadan" have reason to celebrate: The anime adaptation is set to premiere in 2024. The production will be handled by the animation studio Science SARU.

"Dandadan," currently serialized in Shonen Jump+, revolves around the life of high school student Ayase Momoka, who comes from a media family, and her classmate and occult enthusiast Okarun, also known as Takakura Ken. The story blends elements of the occult, bizarre battles, and romantic comedy. The plot unfolds as Momoka, who believes in UFOs, and Okarun, who believes in ghosts, visit locations famous for their supernatural occurrences. The twelfth volume of the manga will be released on December 4.

Alongside the anime announcement, a teaser image and a 45-second teaser promotional video were released, featuring psychedelic colors and showcasing the characters Momoka and Okarun. The anime boasts a high-profile team, with Yamashiro Fūga, assistant director of "Yojōhan Time Machine Blues," serving as director. The series composition and script are handled by Seko Hiroshi, known for his work on "Jujutsu Kaisen." The team also includes Keno Kensuke for music, Onda Naoyuki for character design, and Kameda Yoshitomo for the design of aliens and monsters.
