The popular manga series Ponkotsu Fūkiin to Skirt Take ga Futekisetsu na JK no Hanashi (English: Story of the Useless Public Morals Committeeman and the High School Girl With Inappropriate Skirt Length) is receiving a television series adaptation. First insights into the production have been released.

The plot revolves around the mismatched duo at a school: a dutiful but ineffective member of the public morals committee and a rule-breaking, yet extremely capable student. Their daily encounters form the heart of the series. The release of the anime adaptation is planned for April.

The manga is by Takuma Yokota, who is known, among other things, for the illustrations of the highly-regarded series Destroy All Humans. They Can't Be Regenerated. (Subete no Jinrui o Hakai suru. Sorera wa Saisei Dekinai.). This previous work was described as a kind of "love letter" to the Magic: The Gathering community and also gained international recognition.

Ponkotsu Fūkiin to Skirt Take ga Futekisetsu na JK no Hanashi has been serialized since March 2019 in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine. The nineteenth collected volume was already released in December.

Established voice actors have been secured for the main roles:

- Junya Enoki lends his voice to Togo Sakuradaimon, the member of the public morals committee.

- Riko Akechi takes on the role of the student Poemu Kohinata.

The series is directed by Daiji Iwanaga at Studio Zero-G. Yo Himuro is responsible for the character design and also takes on the role of chief animation director. The series composition and screenplay are handled by Masahiro Yokotani, who is supported by Takahito Onishi and Tomoko Konparu.

Alongside the announcement of the April start, a first visual teaser and a short preview film with scenes from the series were released. These provide a first impression of the characters and the atmosphere.
