New details have been announced for the upcoming anime adaptation of the light novel series "The Strongest Job is Apparently Not a Hero or a Sage, but an Appraiser (Provisional)!". Alongside a first video and another key visual, additional members of the voice cast have been introduced.
The Japanese original title of the series is "Saikyō no Shokugyō wa Yūsha demo Kenja demo naku Kanteishi (Kari) Rashii Desu yo?". The broadcast is scheduled to begin in April 2026.
Several new voices for central figures of the story join the previously confirmed cast. The newly announced performers and their roles are:
- Yoko Hikasa in the role of Ivel
- Sora Tokui as Steelia
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as the Chief God (Shushin)
- Akiho Suzumoto as the Demon God (Majin)
- Chiemi Tanaka as the Underworld God (Meijin)
- Yukari Tamura as the guiding voice of Sapo-chan
The anime's opening theme will be titled "Compass wa Tōmei" (English: "Compass is Clear"). The performing artist is Ryushen, a liver from the virtual talent agency Nijisanji.
The series is directed by Makoto Hoshino, who was responsible for, among other things, the first season of "Banished from the Hero's Party". Series composition and scripts are handled by Megumi Shimizu. Character design is by Mihoko Ogawa and Yoshie Matsumoto. Animation production is by Studio Flad.
The underlying light novel series was written by Atekichi and originally started as a web novel on the AlphaPolis platform in August 2016. The first printed light novel volume with illustrations by Akira Shigaraki was released in March 2017. As of October 2025, eight volumes have been published. A manga adaptation, drawn by Atsushi Takeda, began in August 2017 and currently comprises ten volumes.
The story follows high school student Hibiki Manabe, who is inexplicably transported to a foreign fantasy world. In this world populated by monsters, he possesses no combat abilities, only the seemingly unspectacular talent of "Appraisal". On his journey to find a way back to his world, he teams up with various companions, including the elf Emalia Steinbart.
