The studio previewed the first episode of the anime during the Anime Expo panel, and a teaser trailer with subtitles is currently available to stream on Netflix.

The anime adaptation of "Delicious in Dungeon" is directed by Yoshihiro Miyajima at Studio Trigger. Kimiko Ueno is in charge of the series' scripts, Naoki Takeda designs the characters, and Yasunori Mitsuda composes the music.

The manga, licensed by Yen Press, combines dungeon adventure and food themes. The story revolves around a group of adventurers on a rescue mission who decide to sustain themselves by eating the food available in the dungeon. After being defeated by a dragon and losing their resources, the group comes up with the innovative idea of consuming the dungeon's monsters for nourishment.

Ryōko Kui began the manga in February 2014 in Kadokawa's Harta magazine. The 12th compiled volume of the manga was released by Kadokawa in August 2022, with the 11th volume hinting in September 2021 that the series is approaching its conclusion.
