Anime adaptation of "The Villainess's Dark History" announced

The manga "The Villainess's Dark History" by Fuyuka Akiharu is set to be adapted into a TV anime. The story follows Konoha Sato, a working adult who finds herself in the world of a fantasy novel she wrote during her school days while struggling with Chuunibyou syndrome (Eighth Grader Syndrome). In this novel, the protagonist is Konoha, Konoha Magnolia, the daughter of a count. However, Konoha is reborn as her sister Iana, who is the actual villainess of the story. Despite being born as the villainess, Konoha attempts to avoid numerous death flags and fights for her survival in a world filled with magic, love, and adventure—one she once dreamed of—surrounded by handsome men determined to save the world.

The manga has been serialized continuously in the monthly magazine LaLa and is a major success, with over 1.7 million copies sold in print and digital formats. The latest volume, the 13th in the series, is set to release on March 5.
