A television adaptation of the light novel series Sekai Saikyou no Kouei: Meikyuukoku no Shinjin Tansakusha (English title: The World's Strongest Rearguard: Labyrinth Country's Novice Seeker) is in production. The broadcast is scheduled to begin in July 2026.

The story follows Arihito Atobe, a salaryman who is reborn after his death into a world known as the "Labyrinth Country." In this world, he chooses the rare and powerful job class of "Rearguard," which combines attack, defense, and healing abilities. The series follows him and his companions on their adventures in the world's labyrinths.

The animation studio MAHO FILM is responsible for the production. The director is Yūji Yanase. Series composition is handled by Deko Akao, while character design is led by Eiko Yanagimoto. The series is based on the light novel series by author Towa and illustrator Huuka Kazabana, which has been ongoing since 2017. Nine volumes have been released so far, with total circulation exceeding 1.7 million copies.

A well-known voice cast has been secured for the main roles:

- Arihito Atobe is voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka.

- Theresia is voiced by Aoi Koga.

- Kyouka Igarashi is voiced by Sakura Nakamura.

- Elitia Centrale is voiced by Yui Ishikawa.

The original web novel began in April 2017 on the platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Later that same year, publisher Fujimi Shobo began printing the light novel series. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Rikizo, has been serialized since March 2018. Both the light novel and manga are published in English by Yen Press.
