The action series "Unmei no Makimodoshi" (Fate Rewinder) based on the manga by Kimura Fūta is getting an anime adaptation. The direction is handled by Matsumoto Rie ("Blood Blockade Battlefront"), while Bones ("My Hero Academia") is in charge of animation production and STORY Inc. ("Suzume") oversees general production.

Alongside the announcement, a first extensive promotional video with an accompanying main theme has been released. The story follows special units of the time police, called "Makimodoshi". They use implanted time machines ("Retry Eye") to prevent tragic deaths by repeatedly rewinding time.

The award-winning manga has continuously topped the reader polls of "Monthly CoroCoro Comic" (Shogakukan) for twelve months straight and has gained recognition from renowned creators. Volume 10 will be released on July 28.

To celebrate the anime announcement, "Shūkan CoroCoro Comic" is offering a 72-hour free reading promotion of all chapters until July 13. Concurrently, a special page is running a popularity poll for the favorite characters until August 31. The top three will later be honored with exclusive illustrations by the author.

Manga creator Kimura expressed gratitude for the readers' trust and called the production team a "dream cast". Director Matsumoto emphasized her ambition to visually innovate the dynamic time-travel elements.
