A film adaptation of the novel "Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to" (translated: "You, Fireworks, and a Promise") by Kaoruko Mado has officially been greenlit. The plot of the youth romance film unfolds during the famous Nagaoka Fireworks Festival in Niigata Prefecture.
At the center of the story are two high school students: a reserved boy from Tokyo and the multi-talented class president of his new school. A drawn depiction of a fireworks display forms the starting point for their acquaintance.
The voice roles for the main characters have been cast. The role of Makoto Natsume will be played by Shori Sato. Nonoka Hara will voice the character of Aki Hayama.
Kei Suzuki is responsible for the direction. The screenplay was written by Kohei Mori. The character design is by Yuji Watanabe. Production management is handled by Michihiko Umezawa.
