The anime features a quartet of characters portraying the Yuzuki brothers. Hayato Yuzuki, the eldest, is played by Ryōta Iwasaki and serves as the central pillar of the family. The second son, Mikoto Yuzuki, portrayed by Kikunosuke Toya, is described as cool yet deeply affectionate toward his siblings. The third son, Minato Yuzuki, voiced by Miyuki Sakurai, is energetic and attentive to his brothers. The youngest son, Gakuto, played by Momoka Terasawa, is still in elementary school but appears the most mature and is often called a loner.
The upcoming anime adaptation is set to premiere in the fall and is directed by Mitsuru Hongo. Orie Tanaka will be in charge of character design and serve as chief animation director, while Yoshikazu Suo will compose the music.
At its core, "Yuzuki-san Chi no Yon-Kyōdai" is a coming-of-age story centered around four brothers—Hayato, the family provider who also works as a teacher; Mikoto, the aloof brother who is overly affectionate toward Minato; Minato, the shy and reserved sibling; and Gakuto, the confident first-grader.
Since its debut in 2018 in the shōjo manga magazine Betsucomi, published by Shogakukan, "Yuzuki-san Chi no Yon-Kyōdai" has won the hearts of many readers. The manga's success was confirmed when it won the 66th Shogakukan Manga Prizes in 2020 in the shōjo category.
