The manga series "Vampire Boys' Dormitory" by Emma Toyama will be adapted into an anime in 2024. Nobuyoshi Nagayama is directing. Screenwriter Maita Doko will collaborate with Nagayama, and the animation will be handled by Studio Blanc.

The adaptation celebrates two milestones: the 70th anniversary of the magazine Nakayoshi (Kodansha), where the series is published, and the 20th anniversary of Emma Toyama's career in the manga industry. The story follows the lonely and abandoned Mito, who disguises herself as a boy to make a living. After losing her job, she is taken in by a vampire named Luca, and the two begin living together in a boys' dormitory. Mito offers her blood as sustenance for Luca while keeping her true identity a secret. This risky coexistence between a disguised girl and a vampire is the heart of this romantic manga comedy. The manga series has already been released in 11 volumes, with a total circulation of 250,000 copies. The 12th volume is scheduled for release in Japan on November 13.

A teaser image for the anime has been revealed, capturing the sensual tension between Mito and Luca. Additionally, a celebratory illustration by Emma Toyama has been released. Director Nagayama expressed his excitement for the project, stating that he looks forward to bringing the world of shoujo manga into the anime medium and promising to stay true to the charm of the original.
