The Unwanted Undead Adventurer is a dark fantasy story centered around the adventures of Rentt Faina. The twenty-five-year-old adventurer has spent his days battling low-level monsters until a chance discovery in the Moon’s Reflection Labyrinth sends him on a new journey. Instead of finding treasure at the end of the path, Rentt encounters a dragon that completely devours him, transforming him into a skeleton. The series follows his journey as an undead adventurer, his quest for existential evolution, and his hope of regaining human form.
Yū Okano initially launched the series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2016. The light novel series has been in print since October 2017, published by OVERLAP with illustrations by Jaian. Additionally, a manga adaptation by Haiji Nakasone has been available on OVERLAP's Comic Gardo website since November 2017.
