The character designs for the TV anime "The Girl Who Couldn't Become a Witch," set to air in October, have now been confirmed by Lily Hoshino. A new visual illustration and the first promotional video featuring Hoshino's designs have been released.

This original anime is the second project to emerge from the Project ANIMA initiative. It follows Kurumi Mirai, a girl who dreams of becoming a witch, and Yuzu Edel, a girl from a prestigious family known for producing witches, as they navigate their school life. The story begins with the two failing the entrance exam for the special division of the Rettran School of Magic, a requirement to become a state-certified magician.

The promotional video highlights the contrast between the cheerful Kurumi and the cool Yuzu. The scenes show Kurumi standing desperately at the school's entrance ceremony after losing her childhood dream of becoming a witch, while Yuzu displays a mix of cold words and a sad expression.

Hana Hishikawa will voice Kurumi Mirai, and Misuzu Yamada will voice Yuzu Edel. The anime's character design is handled by Mai Matsuura, known for her work on "Arcana Famiglia," the "KING OF PRISM" series, and the "Bakuman" series. The music was composed by a team led by Yoko Shimomura, known for "Final Fantasy XV" and "Super Mario RPG," along with Hayato Matsuo, Dai Haraguchi, and Miku Yoshikawa.
