The production for the anime adaptation of the light novel series 'Buchikire Reijou wa Houfuku wo Chikaimashita. – Madousho no Chikara de Sokoku wo Tatakitsubushimasu' (roughly 'The Crazy Lady Swore Revenge. With the Power of the Spellbook, I Will Smash My Homeland') has announced its official broadcast start. The series will air from July 6, 2026, on TV Tokyo, BS11, and AT-X. TV Tokyo will air episodes on Mondays at 26:00 (Tuesdays at 2:00 AM), BS11 on Tuesdays at 25:30, and AT-X on Mondays at 22:30 with reruns. Alongside the schedule announcement, the main promotional video was released, featuring for the first time the full voice recordings of the previously announced characters as well as clips from the opening theme 'Q.E.D.' by Yui Ogura.

This fantasy work is based on the light novel by Hagure Metabo, which won the HJ Novel Award for the first half of 2021. The story centers on Elizabeth, a duke's daughter, who is humiliated by her fiancé, the crown prince, at a festival in front of everyone and then innocently thrown into prison. Betrayed by her homeland, she escapes with the help of a powerful magical book. From then on, she forges a cold revenge plan in her new life as a businesswoman in a neighboring country. The anime is produced by Studio Comet under the direction of Naoyuki Kuzuya, with series composition by Mitsutaka Hirota, character design by Sayaka Anezaki, and music by Satoshi Houno and Karin Nakano.

Additional voice actors were introduced today: Yuu Serizawa and Shizuka Ishigami. Serizawa voices the nun Teed, an unconventional and spirited healer who works in rural villages during her travels. 'Modern people tend to just accept injustices—but Ellie in this story truly holds them accountable. It's liberating to experience her iron will and cleverness,' Serizawa commented. Shizuka Ishigami plays Elsa Archfield, the leader of the A-rank adventurer group 'Sharp Blade.' She wields the legendary 'Phoenix Sword' and is thus called 'Phoenix Elsa.' Ishigami emphasized the refreshing revenge of the heroine and the disciplined yet combative nature of her character.

Previously announced main roles include Saoiri Onishi as Elizabeth, Ikumi Hasegawa as Mirei Catarina, Yui Ogura as Rinoa Carlton, Ayumi Uehara as Misha Tail, Youhei Azakami as Lucas Lebrick, Masaaki Mizunaka as Friede Haldoria, and Marika Kouno as Sylvia Lockit.

The seven-volume light novel series by Hagure Metabo (illustrations by Masami) is published by Hobby Japan, and the accompanying manga adaptation by Oonoimo is serialized in Comic Fire and has been released in ten compiled volumes. The English licensee J-Novel Club is releasing both the novels and the manga digitally.

A special premiere of the series will take place on July 4, 2026, at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles, before the regular run begins a week later.
