A special collaboration promotional video has been released for the upcoming TV anime adaptation "Salty Satou-san is Only Sweet to Me" (Japanese: "Shio Taio no Satou-san ga Ore ni Dake Amai") with the series "Humanity Has Declined" (Japanese: "Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita").
Both works are based on light novels from Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint. While the adaptation of "Salty Satou-san" is announced for this year, "Humanity Has Declined" celebrated its anime premiere back in 2012. The new crossover trailer is titled "Unrequited Love ♡ Collaboration Series" and is conceived as a kind of love letter to the older anime. The visual design of the video is based on the original opening sequence of "Humanity Has Declined".
A special highlight is the musical contribution: Voice actress Miku Itō, who portrays the main character Koharu Satou in the new anime, sings a cover version of "Real World" in the PV – the opening song of "Humanity Has Declined", originally performed by the band nano.RIPE. Additionally, the edit contains never-before-seen scenes from the upcoming anime production.
Behind the scenes of the new series, director Fumihiro Yoshimura (known for works like "My Wife Has No Emotion") is directing at Studio Tezuka Productions. Series composition is handled by Takashi Aoshima, while Daisuke Okushima is responsible for character design. The main roles are cast with Hiiro Ishibashi as the protagonist Sōta Oshio and Miku Itō as the titular, seemingly always dismissive Koharu Satou.
