Anime “Dorohedoro” Gets Third Season – Director Yuichiro Hayashi Releases Illustration

Immediately after the finale of the second season on May 27, 2026, Toho Animation confirmed the production of a third season of the anime “Dorohedoro.” Director Yuichiro Hayashi contributed an illustration to the announcement, depicting the demon Haru singing about his anticipation for the continuation. At the same time, an animated music video for the opening “Zettai MUST Danmen” by the band (K)NoWNAME was released, capturing the chaotic atmosphere of the series.

The adaptation is based on the manga of the same name by Q Hayashida, which was serialized from 2000 to 2018 in Shogakukan’s magazine and comprises a total of 23 volumes. The story follows the amnesiac Caiman, whose head was transformed into that of a lizard by a sorcerer, and his companion Nikaido as they search for the one responsible. The anime debuted on Netflix in 2020 and achieved cult status. The second season streamed from April to May 2026 on numerous platforms such as Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Disney+.

For the third season, the key creators return: Yuichiro Hayashi (previously also “Attack on Titan: The Final Season”) will again direct, and Studio MAPPA will once again handle the animation. The series composition is by Hiroshi Seko, with character design by Tomohiro Kishi. A specific release date has yet to be announced, but work on the new season is already underway.
