Anime film "Bakeneko Anzu-chan" is scheduled to be released nationwide in Japan in July

The animated adaptation of "Bakeneko Anzu-chan," originally a series that ran from 2006 to 2007 in Kodansha's Comic BonBon, is set to be released nationwide in July.

The story revolves around Anzu, a cat who was rescued as a kitten by a temple monk and has lived for over 30 years, gaining the ability to speak and live like a human.

The film features Mirai Moriyama as Anzu and Noa Goto as Karin. The movie uses a unique animation technique called rotoscoping, where live-action footage serves as the basis for the animation.

The animation production is a collaboration between Shin-Ei Animation and the French studio Miyu Productions.
