The popular app game "Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku" is being adapted into an anime film. Titled "Theatrical Version Project Sekai: Broken World and the Silent Miku," the movie is set to hit Japanese theaters on January 17, 2025.

"Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku," also known as "Proseka," is a rhythm and adventure game for iOS and Android, featuring the virtual singer Hatsune Miku in a central role. The game is a collaboration between Sega and Colorful Palette and was released in September 2020.

The animated film "Theatrical Version Project Sekai: Broken World and the Silent Miku" will tell a completely new and original story not found in the game.

Directed by Hiroyuki Hata, known for "Lapis Re:LiGHTs," the screenplay is written by Youko Yonaiyama, who also worked on "Uma Musume: Pretty Derby Season 2." Animation is handled by P.A.WORKS, the studio behind productions like "Skip to Loafer." The game's voice actors, including Ruriko Noguchi as Ichika Hoshino and Yuki Nakashima as Shiho Hinomori, will reprise their roles in the film.

A teaser video and the film's key visual have been released. The key visual depicts Miku in Shibuya, surrounded by noise, as she sits sadly on the ground. The people around her ignore her, and her reflection is absent from the water. The teaser video showcases scenes from the film, featuring Miku in a new form not seen in the game, as well as the newly animated game characters.
