The manga website Tonari no Young Jump by Shueisha announced via its official Twitter account that Mitsuo Iso's two-part anime film project "The Orbital Children" will be adapted into a manga series. Gaku Tanigaki, who will be responsible for the manga's illustrations, celebrated the announcement with an illustration shared on Twitter.

The anime film "The Orbital Children" was screened in Japan in two parts in 2022, with the first part premiering in January and the second in February.

The story is set in the year 2045, in a world where artificial intelligence has advanced significantly and space travel is accessible to everyone. The plot revolves around children born on the moon and children from Earth who visit space and meet at a Japanese-built space station called "Anshin." Their future is determined by the Seven Poem, resulting in a unique and futuristic tale.

Mitsuo Iso announced the anime project at the Anime Central Convention in 2018 and is responsible for the original work. Iso also directed and wrote the script for the anime. The character designs were created by Kenichi Yoshida, while other staff members included Yusuke Ikeda as art director, Miho Tanaka as color designer, Rei Ishizuka as composer, and Youji Shimizu as sound director. Studio Production +h. was established specifically for the production of the anime film and received financial support from Avex Pictures and ASMIK Ace.
