The official website for the upcoming anime film adaptation of Akira Toriyama's manga "SAND LAND" has released a new trailer, along with the announcement of the main cast. The film is set to hit Japanese theaters on August 18.

The trailer features a voice announcing the awakening of the "most powerful and evil demon" this summer, followed by a glimpse of Beelzebub, one of the main characters. The film's cast includes Mutsumi Tamura as Beelzebub, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Rao, Chō as Thief, Satoshi Tsuruoka as General Are, and Nobuo Tobita as General Zau.

Toshihisa Yokoshima directs at Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and Anima, with Hiroshi Koujina serving as supervising director. Hayashi Mori is in charge of the script, while Yoshikazu Iwanami handles sound direction and Yūgo Kanno composes the music.

"SAND LAND" is a short manga series by Toriyama, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from May to August 2000. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where water is controlled by a greedy king, and follows Sheriff Rao as he enlists the help of the Demon King's son, Beelzebub, and his assistant, Thief, to find a long-lost lake.
