The anime adaptation of Haruki Kuō's light novel series "Liar Liar" has confirmed its broadcast dates. As stated on the official website, the anime is set to premiere on July 8.
The story of "Liar Liar" takes place in a unique setting—an "academy" located on an island. Here, students strive for supremacy in an environment where academic performance determines their rank. The protagonist, Hiroto Shinohara, achieves the highest score on the entrance exam, catapulting him to the top of the academy's hierarchy. He replaces the previous queen, Sarasa Saionji, and secures a spot in the school's elite group, the "Seven Stars."
However, it turns out that Hiroto's success story is an elaborate fabrication. To maintain his position, he engages in mind games and resorts to lies and bluffs. By his side are Shirayuki Himeji, the so-called "deceptive maid," and Saionji, who also turns out to be a role imitator.
The development of the anime adaptation is led by directors Satoru Ōno and Naoki Matsuura, with the series' scripts written by Momoka Toyoda. Yumi Nakamura is in charge of character design. The opening theme song of the series, "Lies Goes On," is performed by May'n, while the idol group SMILE PRINCESS sings the ending theme, "Faky Merry Game."
